But Edmonton is more than just sports and our world famous West Edmonton Mall.

Edmonton River Valley Trail

Edmonton is know for it’s River Valley Trail system which boasts 160 KM of maintained multi-use trails and seemingly endless sets of stairs along the river bank. Our River Valley Trails constitutes the longest stretch of connected urban parkland in North America.

Edmonton River Vally Stairs

The trail system runs along the North Saskatchewan river and the City of Edmonton has been kind enough to provide MULTIPLE locations of wooden stairs leading from various points on high ground, down to the trail system. Bootcamps and other fitness aficionados use the stairs for their daily workouts. I myself “do stairs”. I’d like to say I run stairs, but at the moment, I’m just “doing” them. As a personal project, and because I can’t seem to find anything on the subject, have begun a Guide To The Edmonton River Valley Stairs (it’s a work in progress.)

Edmonton Photographers

After marrying a photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many other talented photographers and artists. I decided to put together a listing of Edmonton photographers as a resource.

Edmonton Farmers Markets

As far as I’m concerned, everyone should avoid Safeway or Save-on-Foods and just shop the local farmers markets. It’s my policy to understand where my food comes from and get to know my farmers. I like to encourage people to meet and shake the hand of your farmer.

Here’s a list of Edmonton farmers markets.
